SEASON ONE • 2021

A serendipitous friendship in 2021 led to the creation of the enormously successful inaugural season of McLemore’s Songwriter’s Series. This intimate concert series is limited to an audience of 200 and has the feel of a small house concert. The only difference is that these artists are Grammy award nominees and recipients.

    PATRICK DAVIS

    For over a decade, Patrick Davis has made a name for himself as a prolific and versatile songwriter, sought after by artists ranging from Guy Clark and Robert Randolph to Jimmy Buffett and Imelda May.

    SISTER HAZEL

    Ken Block and Drew Copeland, best known as two of the five members of the platinum-selling southern rock band Sister Hazel, will bring their wildly successful tunes to McLemore on June 17th for an intimate, "miss it and miss out" acoustic show, reminiscent of their earlier performance days when they canvassed the club and coffee shop circuit as a duo from Gainesville, Florida.

    DAN TYMINSKI

    Throughout his 30-year career, Dan Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. Dan has contributed guitar and/or harmony to projects by Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Aaron Lewis and Rob Thomas.

    SUNRISE LATIN JAZZ QUARTET

    Sunrise is a quartet of Cuban music, formed by two Cubans, a Venezuelan and a Puerto Rican. Showing the musical connection that exists in our Latin blood despite being children of different countries, this quartet specializes mainly in music in the style of Buena Vista Social Club, Benny Moré, among other greats of Cuban and Latin American music.

    KRISTIAN BUSH

    Kristian Bush is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Bush is one half of the country music duo Sugarland with Jennifer Nettles, and was a member of the folk rock duo Billy Pilgrim with Andrew Hyra. Bush co-founded Sugarland in 2002, which has surpassed sales of over 22 million albums worldwide, achieved five number one singles and won numerous Grammys, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, CMT Music Awards and CMA Awards.

    CHARLTON SINGLETON

    Charlton Singleton is a founding member of a new ensemble called Ranky Tanky. The group is a quintet that interprets the sounds of Gullah from the Southeast Coast of the United States. In 2018 Ranky Tanky reached the top of the Billboard, iTunes, and Amazon Contemporary Jazz charts with their self-titled debut recording. In 2019, the band accomplished the same feat with the release of their sophomore effort, “Good Time”, which was nominated for a Grammy Award.

    LAUREN JENKINS

    Singer-songwriter Lauren Jenkins has been a touring artist since she was 15 years old. The Texas born, Carolina-raised artist chose a life that would fit perfectly in the songs she writes: across countless smoky bars, fake IDs, and endless miles on the road, music has been her one constant companion. Named an Artist to Watch by The New York Times, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pandora, and many more, she was also chosen as a member of the “Class of 2019” by influential radio DJ Bobby Bones, and made her TODAY Show debut as Elvis Duran’s Artist of the Month.

    JAMES OTTO

    James Otto became a part of the renegade outfit, The Muzik Mafia, and developed a reputation as a riveting live performer. “Just Got Started Lovin’ You” became the biggest hit of 2008, and his vocal performance of the song was nominated for a Grammy. “Sunset Man” peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and Otto began earning a reputation as one of Nashville’s most compelling young songwriters. He co-wrote the Jamey Johnson hit “In Color,” which was nominated for a second Grammy and won both the Country Music Academy’s “Song of the Year” and the Academy of Country Music’s “Song of the Year” awards in 2008. Otto has also penned songs for John Anderson, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen and many others including the Zac Brown Band hit “No Hurry.”

    CHANNING WILSON

    Channing Wilson has written songs for Tyler Farr, Luke Combs, and Jason Eady, and performed with Billy Joe Shaver, Steve Earle, and Robert Earl Keen. Channing’s songs have been recorded by artists like Tyler Farr, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Jason Eady, William Clarke Green, Django Walker, Chris Canterbury and more. He has shared bills with so many of his heroes such as Billy Joe Shaver, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Tony Joe White, Chris Knight, Dale Watson, and many more including going out with Lynyrd Skynyrd on their farewell tour this year and he was also on the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour.
