Hotel Features

Now that you know in brief what you can experience at Cloudland, let’s look at the features and amenities. For those familiar with the McLemore, it should come as no surprise that one of the best features of the resort is its location. While Lookout Mountain is a breathtaking locale, we don’t mean location in that sense, but rather the convenience of McLemore and the Cloudland being situated not too far from five major markets.

Here are many of the features you will find when Cloudland opens:

Golf Amenities

McLemore has no shortage when it comes to your choice of beautiful and luxurious golf courses. By staying at Cloudland, you will have the luxury of playing on each course during your stay and enjoying them to the utmost rather than trying to fit two rounds of golf within a single day. Kick back, relax, enjoy your stay, and soak up the beauty and wonders that make McLemore’s golf courses truly spectacular.

With a masterfully designed 18-hole championship course, an alluring short course and another championship set to open in 2024, there are plenty of ways to hone your game in a dramatic setting. Among these choices is the famous Highlands course that is recognized by Golf Digest as one of the “Top 100 Courses to Play in America.”

The Highlands Course

Perched 2,300 feet above sea level and designed by Rees Jones and Bill Bergin, this 18-hole mountaintop course offers a breathtaking dramatic cliff edge and vistas with a variety of strategic hole designs to test every golfer’s mettle. Golf Digest recognized the Highlands Course as one of the “Top 100 Courses to Play in America,” and No. 18 as one of the best golf holes built since 2000. For golfers of any skill level attending the Cloudland Resort, your stay won’t be complete without experiencing what sets The Highlands Course apart from the rest in the country.

The Keep

Situated on the eastern cliff edge of Lookout Mountain, the Keep is an 18-hole course slated to open in Summer 2024 and designed as a walkable mountaintop golf experience. Legendary architects Bill Bergin and Rees Jones collaborated on The Keep, with Jones noting during the 2021 U.S. Open that The Keep “could host a major.” With the Highlands Course being a famous and highly revered golf course in the country, The Keep is sure to live up to those expectations and be one of the most scenic and enjoyable courses to play in the country.

The Cairn

Perfect for golfers looking to test their short game mettle and to sample the wonders and beauties of McLemore, the Cairn is a short 6-hole course that is one of the several jewels at McLemore. Designed by Bill Bergin, The Cairn rests on the north side of the clubhouse and overlooks the dramatic and award-winning 18th hole on the Highlands Course. This course is perfect for a fun outing with the family or for tuning up your short game while experiencing the spectacular views of Lookout Mountain.

Discover Culinary Delights

Whether you venture to Cloudland as an avid golfer or adventure seeker wanting to experience the natural wonders and scenic views of Lookout Mountain, there are many experiences to be discovered.

While enjoying the luxuries of the McLemore and Cloudland, guests can experience an exquisite dining that will take them on a culinary adventure. The spirit of McLemore will be evident throughout the curated food and beverage offerings. Guests will have a selection of three unique dining experiences from which to choose that will strive to source the freshest ingredients, exceptional wine and spirits, and inspired hand-crafted cocktails.

Auld Alliance

This upscale dining experience will bridge cultures and cuisines while providing magnificent cliffside views over McLemore Cove. Auld Alliance is Cloudland’s culinary feat that will perfectly merge and balance the culinary scenes of France and Scotland. The menu will be based on the spirit of the huntsman being protein-centric, with the carefully curated approach of the diet of foraging from the wild upscaled into an elevated setting.

Croft

Indulge and imbibe within a comfortably rustic setting. The Croft will offer hearty yet elegant breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktail options for everyone. Named after the small farms sprinkled across Scotland, the Croft will focus on simple, fresh ingredients.

The Pocket

Each morning should begin at The Pocket with a captivating sunrise paired with elegantly roasted coffee and a croissant. The Pocket will feature numerous breakfast options that are available into the early afternoon. Named for the 20,000+ acre Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wilderness Area in McLemore Cove, The Pocket celebrates one of North America’s most plentiful locations of botanicals.

Sky Bar & Grill

Enjoy lunch & dinner while overlooking the Cove and indulge in Southern classics in this cliff-edge, pool-side dining option that is suspended over the edge of Lookout Mountain.

Book Your Reservation at Cloudland

Experience a destination above the rest at Cloudland. Perched on the cliff-edge atop Lookout Mountain, the Cloudland will be a perfect place for a romantic getaway, your next golf adventure or as a great destination for your next family vacation.

While Cloudland does not open until early 2024, guests can still book their reservations and enjoy their time when Cloudland opens its doors next year. For avid golfers, it’s not too soon to book your stay and experience The Keep when it opens its course next summer.
