5 Top Golf Resorts And Destinations Are Opening New U.S. Courses In 2024

The construction of new golf courses has seen an upswing since the game’s pandemic-driven resurgence, and five public-access golf destinations are front and center among this year’s new course openings.

While the U.S. golf market is certainly not in the midst of another building boom, the National Golf Foundation recently detailed that more than 110 courses are under construction or in planning, with almost two-thirds of those new course projects at private clubs. But 75% of U.S. golf supply – almost 12,000 of the nearly 16,000 courses in total — are open to public play. And at least a few more are being added to the mix this year in the resort category.
