Hole 1 - Par 5

Black-530, Blue-511, White-500, Gold-458, Red-373, Green-332

Looking down from its elevated tees, the opening tee shot is dramatic and the hole sets the stage for what’s to come at McLemore – a journey through picturesque fairways framed by rock outcroppings and natural grasses winding throughout this magnificent property.  In order to accommodate the entrance road for the hotel, the tees will shift left, creating a slight dogleg.  This shift will result in a slightly easier opening drive.  To create more playable area on the right hillside, the cart path will shift right, away from the edge of the fairway and running between the rock outcroppings up the hill.

Several bunkers will be added to define the landing area and to present a target on the right side.  The second landing area is practically invisible as is; therefore it will be purposefully obstructed with a cross bunker on the left.  The greens complex sits on a breathtaking site and will slide back and right along the ridge, further exposing the view to the left.  The two round bunkers will be eliminated and the area left of the green lowered as much as possible.  A lone back bunker will catch a few stray balls, and the area right of the green will be cleaned up and shaped as a low chipping area.
